Iris Völker - Tierphysiotherapie & Tierosteopathie

Bay and I are already on our second round of treatments with Iris Völker. We started at the beginning of the year because of a slipped disc, but as soon as our 10-session package was used up, Bay suffered a spinal cord infarction, so we're starting all over again. Iris Völker is always ready to listen and has often helped me beyond her role as a physiotherapist, simply by sharing her experience with her own dogs. Bay isn't usually a very communicative dog, but here she can wonderfully relax and enjoy the massages, acupuncture, and other treatments. With lots of praise and apparently very tasty goat treats, Iris Völker can even persuade her to do some exercise. So we feel very comfortable and well cared for here.

On the recommendation of my veterinarian, I took my dog ​​to Ms. Völker to have the "signs of weakness" in his left hind leg checked out. Ms. Völker took all the time necessary for the examination and, with her very caring manner, palpated the dog. She explained her diagnostic options to me very clearly and also managed my expectations effectively (which I personally appreciate a lot). In addition to the manual treatment, she showed us some exercises during two follow-up appointments that we can do ourselves to address the "weakness." I felt very well cared for and supported. In January 2023, our dachshund Chiko, at almost 8 years old, suffered a severe slipped disc after a fall, requiring surgery. I found Ms. Völker through Google near my home and was able to get an appointment very quickly to begin Chiko's treatment. Ms. Völker alleviated many of the anxieties I initially had due to the seriousness of the diagnosis. She exudes an incredible calmness that also affected Chiko, and although he is rather a shy, reserved dachshund, he felt very, very comfortable during the treatments, which was evident in the fact that he eventually lay down and fell asleep during the sessions. Now, almost a year has passed, and Chiko is walking almost as if nothing had ever happened. We—I as his owner and Chiko as the patient—felt very, very comfortable here and wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Völker. We will continue to see Ms. Völker every six months next year and wish her all the best for the future, her further training, and her little business. Family. It's amazing what she does on the side as an animal physiotherapist!
