I am completely satisfied with both veterinarians. Appointments were quick. The advice was friendly and competent. The treatments were always carried out very well. Thumbs up to the staff and veterinary assistants as well. A truly excellent team.
We've been going to this practice for several years and know both vets 😊, but we usually see Dr. Hartmann. Especially in the last few days, we've noticed how empathetic and compassionate they are—what a wonderful vet and team! We were initially worried about our rescue kitten, Elli, who needed a partial tail amputation. General anesthesia at just three weeks old is very risky. Dr. Hartmann and his team managed to avoid general anesthesia, and when we picked her up, a happy and well-cared-for Elli was waiting for us 🫶. Unfortunately, our luck didn't last long. Another rescue kitten, Elfi, suddenly became ill, and then everything happened very quickly. When we arrived, all I could say was... well, you know 😪 Everyone there was so empathetic and calm, something I couldn't manage, and they were such an incredible support 🫶 Thank you! The fact that I then got a call from the doctor's office the next day to check on me was the icing on the cake 🥹 Thank you for everything. You're not only competent and knowledgeable, you also have heart in the right place. I would entrust any of my seven little ones... er, seven cats 🐱 to you anytime ☺️
Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience. Our cat was given the wrong diagnosis, and it was only after we sought a second opinion that the problem was clarified. In the end, the cat had to be euthanized. If the diagnosis had been correct, the cat could have been spared a lot of suffering (and perhaps something could have been done to save her). As a veterinarian, they could have referred us to the animal hospital if they weren't sure. Very unprofessional!
I have been extremely dissatisfied with this practice for quite some time and visited Mr. Balzar for the last time this week. The reasons for this were, firstly, the way my dog was treated, but above all, the communication and lack of transparency regarding treatment and costs. I would like to elaborate on this below: When my dog needed an ultrasound, his belly was shaved, resulting in a minor injury. When I inquired about it, this was downplayed with the comment that one can easily cut oneself while shaving. Before the appointment, I asked about the estimated costs, which ultimately far exceeded the quoted price range. The invoice was supposed to be sent by email, but despite repeated requests, it never arrived, apparently because my email address had been entered incorrectly. Even at the second appointment, despite explicitly asking, no clear price was given. Instead of the estimated costs, I had to pay over €300 again, bringing the total cost to over €650. I made the next appointment for a rabies vaccination and also ordered tick tablets. Again, I inquired about the expected costs and was told it would be around €100. However, the final bill came to €186. In my car, I noticed on the invoice that my dog had received additional vaccinations without prior consultation. When I returned to the practice, Mr. Balzar showed no understanding whatsoever. Instead of apology or acknowledgment, he told me I should have asked more questions! In my opinion, a professional practice should clearly and unambiguously discuss medical procedures and their costs with the pet owner. Overall, I felt neither transparently advised nor taken seriously. My advice to other clients: Have all services and costs explained to you in detail beforehand and carefully check the bill. Based on the above, I cannot recommend this practice.
We've been going to this practice for years and I have absolutely nothing negative to say... we've been there countless times with our current rescue dog because he wasn't quite healthy when he came to us from Hungary. Everything was communicated clearly and transparently to me. That's why I'm so surprised by what some people have described here... I absolutely cannot understand it.
