Reviews
Out of sheer desperation to find a good vet, I used my GPS to drive to Stade, hoping to find something nearby. Unfortunately, they were all closed. Then there was another one on my route that the GPS indicated was in Stade, but it took me to the middle of nowhere. Anyway, I was there. It was even open, and I was seen immediately without any fuss. No drama about not having an appointment or not being a regular customer. The vet understood me right away, knew what I was looking for and what problems my pets had and had. Everything was explained in detail, even though I had already suspected it would be necessary, hearing it again gave me more peace of mind. In my opinion, my other vets in the area aren't really interested in the animals' well-being. They're more interested in getting an appointment and immediate payment. I paid €500 each for dental cleanings on two separate occasions, for both cats (completely different ages, etc.). Allegedly, almost all of my dog's teeth had to be removed due to severe cavities. After these two cases, I became suspicious. My dog was also advised to have professional teeth cleaning under general anesthesia every 6-12 months. Others grilled my Chihuahua under a red light lamp. Yet another cauterized my Chihuahua, causing him to suffer for months after the actual surgery, and I incurred hundreds of euros in unnecessary follow-up treatment costs. And not a single sign of compassion or remorse. The justification given was that my dog had a weak immune system. Oh, it's simply unbelievable what I've experienced. I could write books about it. All in all, I'm glad to have found this competent veterinarian and am happy to make the trip. You can really feel that everything is completely different here. I can only recommend this practice.
Very friendly and our dog even likes going there.
For many years we were very satisfied with Ms. Tiaden, but unfortunately her performance and willingness to treat our dog have declined immensely. Most recently, she sent our dog home with only painkillers for weeks. Our requests for further diagnostic tests (X-rays/ultrasound) were rejected with the explanation that they would be pointless and, besides, she couldn't perform them on-site. Long story short, another veterinary practice took us seriously immediately, and she underwent emergency surgery that same day at a clinic. Had we continued to trust Ms. Tiaden, we would have lost our dog in agony!
For many years, we have been very satisfied with the care of our dogs at Dr. Tiaden's practice. When our Labrador had to have a large lipoma removed from his paw, the surgery went well. We only paid €200 for the procedure. In comparison, we would have had to pay significantly more at other practices. The value for money is the best of all the practices we have encountered in the area. Furthermore, the way our four-legged friends are treated is always loving and caring, which we appreciate every time. We wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Tiaden!
Apparently, rip-offs are now commonplace in Germany, and this small animal clinic is no exception. I had to pay €180 to have my cat euthanized. Outrageous!
