It's disheartening to see that even in small animal practices, rabbits often don't receive the attention and professional care they deserve. That's precisely why I believe it's crucial for veterinarians to openly communicate their limitations and, when necessary, specialize in specific animal species or refer patients to appropriately experienced colleagues. Unfortunately, I was sent home twice with a misdiagnosis or without adequate treatment. Only afterward was I informed that they had limited experience with rabbits and didn't treat this species regularly. This information would have been essential before the examination so I could have sought out a rabbit-specialized practice in a timely manner. For pet owners, such a loss of time can have serious consequences. Therefore, I advocate for greater transparency and improved care for rabbits, which deserve expert treatment just as much as dogs or cats.

We've been taking our cats to Dr. Fischer-Brügge for four years now, and we find her to be a consistently friendly and attentive veterinarian. She always takes her time, no matter how many questions we have. Appointments are always available very quickly, and the staff is also incredibly friendly.
