Anyone seeking professional expertise combined with trust, treatment, and advice for their pet without time constraints will find exactly what they need with veterinarian Andrea Irina Joch. A veterinarian with heart! A huge thank you from me and all my animals for many years!
I bring all my dogs here. My own and guide dogs too. All are handled professionally and besides that all the staff is really nice to us.
One star is too much! Even the initial experience was, to put it mildly, disconcerting. While waiting in the waiting room, I overheard them loudly criticizing an email I'd sent ("What an awful way of putting it!" etc.). I confronted them about it. There was no apology. Even at subsequent appointments, I overheard them gossiping about me in the waiting room. For example, they were upset that I'd asked them to keep my cat's teeth, which needed to be extracted, for me. Perhaps they can afford a soundproof door with their rather princely salary if they're already so quick to badmouth their patients. A doctor's child is frequently present in the practice. What is a small child doing in a veterinary clinic? Is it a doctor's office or an after-school program? No explanation, no apology, no inquiry about whether it was acceptable. Nothing. I feel sorry for someone who can't afford childcare despite a considerable salary, but I want a vet who focuses on my pet, not their child! The dental surgery was the worst of all: The appointment was at 9:30, but they postponed it by half an hour at the last minute. Punctuality is rather difficult at this practice. When I left shortly afterward, my cat was already sedated, and I assumed the procedure would be performed immediately. Around 1 p.m., I picked him up. I had heard laughter from the waiting room, and then a couple came out with two dogs. I found my cat sedated, lying on the floor of the practice in an open carrier. We got home shortly before 2 p.m. He was in such a state that I considered calling the emergency vet! His hind legs had buckled, and he was so disoriented that he kept bumping into furniture—a pitiful sight. I wonder how long a dental surgery can take. I wonder what and how much he was given to put him in this condition. And I wonder if it could be because he was left behind to prioritize other patients. Since the surgery, he's been drinking like crazy, a classic sign that his kidneys aren't working properly. A previous vet diagnosed him with kidney failure; currently, his SDMA/creatine level was borderline. A mere coincidence seems odd, so I attribute the fact that his kidneys are now definitely damaged to the surgery. The package insert for the antibiotic I was given (Kesium) clearly states that the medication is not suitable for animals with kidney failure! At the follow-up appointment a week later, I also mentioned that he's been drinking much more since the surgery. Reaction: none. I had hoped the excessive drinking would subside, but it didn't. Therefore, I wrote an email explaining the situation and requesting an appointment. Instead of an appointment, I received a "friendly," but subjectively perceived as condescending, phone call telling me not to email but to call when Dr. X was back in the office. I did so, and (as expected) it was completely pointless since the doctor was in surgery. I was promised a callback. It was around 9:00 AM. I didn't receive a callback that day. Nor the next day. On the third day, at 7:30 PM, I received a call. No apology for the long wait or the late hour, no explanation, no question about whether I was bothering anyone. (I wouldn't presume to call a stranger at that hour, but whatever). They said they had checked with Dr. X about scheduling an appointment. Things must have been incredibly hectic for them for three days if it took three days to sort out an appointment. I don't need an appointment there anymore. Incidentally, no cost information was provided before the outrageously expensive dental surgery! May these women get what they deserve!
Due to behavioral problems ("hyperactivity"), we came across Ms. Joch after an extensive search, as neither veterinary technicians nor trainers had been able to help us up to that point. We received excellent advice, and she took ample time for us. With the right medication combined with numerous training tips, we are now on the right track and very happy that we finally received the right help after six years. The prices are perfectly reasonable, and Ms. Joch was always reachable by email. We can wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone.
Everything's great! Stomach problem solved, hyperthyroidism regulated. He's finally sleeping longer stretches and isn't constantly vomiting. My 16-year-old senior is feeling fantastic! 👍🏼
