Reviews
I'm giving this practice one star because the treatment of my dog (eye condition/SCCED) was not only disappointing but also emotionally distressing. From the very beginning, I inquired several times, including about antibiotics and a necessary Elizabethan collar. Despite this, initially, no appropriate precautions were taken, nor was a collar provided – I had to obtain one myself and only received it later after asking again at the practice. At a subsequent appointment, the treating veterinarian himself told me that there was edema (fluid) in the corneal area. It was therefore all the more incomprehensible to me that the treatment wasn't adjusted accordingly and that I was simply told to continue using the existing eye drops. Since the condition didn't improve as hoped, I finally sought a second veterinary opinion. There, I was told that the existing fluid under the corneal epithelium was significantly hindering healing and now required treatment with special eye drops. Furthermore, it was made clear to me that otherwise, further treatment might be necessary. Furthermore, antibiotic drops are absolutely necessary, and I was lucky that the eye didn't become infected! I was particularly shocked by the statement at the Elbmarsch practice that I should have waited several weeks until after my vacation, regardless of the condition of the eye! With such a sensitive condition as my dog's eye, this statement left me speechless and deeply unsettled. I didn't feel taken seriously or adequately cared for in this situation. The worry about my dog's eye was very stressful for me, especially since the condition worsened in the meantime. To me, the treatment seemed more profit-oriented than focused on my dog's health. The worry about my dog's eye was extremely stressful for me. Due to the incorrect treatment, the eye remains cloudy, and my dog's vision is impaired. Therefore, I would absolutely not recommend this practice!
My dogs love going there. They always receive a very warm welcome and are treated with great respect. We initially went there because of a suspected vision problem, which unfortunately turned out to be a brain tumor that eventually led to vision loss and seizures. After thorough consultation and a very well-explained procedure focused on the animal's well-being, my dog received excellent palliative care and was able to truly enjoy a few more wonderful months of life, for which we are incredibly grateful. We also brought our other dog there with a broken canine tooth after an accident, which required immediate attention. Again, I can only express my gratitude. Thanks to their excellent work, the tooth was saved and has withstood the adventures of a young male dog for over a year now, and you can't tell at all that it had ever happened. Fantastic, we will gladly return!
Our cat had dental surgery here, and we felt very well cared for from the very first moment. The veterinarians and the entire practice team were extremely competent, friendly, and empathetic. The treatment was professional, and we were kept well informed. We are completely satisfied and can wholeheartedly recommend this practice.
My regular vet referred me. My dog had his tartar removed, a tooth extracted, and several small growths taken away. Although my dog is usually quite brave, I'm rather anxious about dental work myself. But the open, friendly, and empathetic practice put me at ease a lot, and I'm very grateful for the excellent work. Thank you so much!
A very competent practice. Dr. Zimmermann was a great help to our 15-year-old dog with her dental work. She tolerated the general anesthesia very well, just as promised. The doctor had to remove eight teeth, roots and all, because many of the roots were inflamed and rotten. The remaining teeth were cleaned of tartar. Thank you again for your gentle handling of my little old Parson Russell Terrier. Best regards from the Braak family
