For obvious issues, it's okay, but for anything more complex, I can't recommend this practice. We were there on Friday with our cat, paid €340 for x-rays, a basic blood test, and lots of "possibilities"—what can I say? Less than 24 hours later, we had to have our cat euthanized. Instead of taking the money, they should have just sent us directly to an animal hospital. The vet who came to our house suspected our cat had hyperthyroidism. We were sent home with an IV line. I called today to say it was all sorted and we couldn't come back to have the line removed. When asked why, I explained that our cat had to be put down on Saturday evening. Compassion? Non-existent! They still brought in €340, after all! Completely unempathetic and, unfortunately, not recommended for complex cases!
This is the worst and most unfriendly veterinarian I have ever met. He only ever gives pain injections and pills to make money. His wife at reception doesn't deserve to be in that position, just like Diekhans himself. He should be stripped of his veterinary license because he doesn't deserve it. He doesn't really help the animals; he just rakes in money with his "examinations" and doesn't treat them the way a veterinarian should. He didn't consider a very large lump on my dog to be risky, didn't examine it properly, and just said it was due to arthritis. His conclusion: it's most likely cancer. It was definitely a mistake to go there, and he's completely unsuited for his profession. I've never experienced anything like it; this man is simply awful.
I can't understand the bad reviews. When it really matters, Mr. Diekhans and his team are second to none. We hadn't needed veterinary care for years, and when it came down to it and our usual vet wasn't available, we were able to bring our dog to him immediately. My toddler and I received such wonderful support from Mr. Diekhans and his team when my dog passed away. Such compassion and empathy in such a difficult situation, on so many levels, is rare. Thank you to the whole team!
Excellent veterinarian. We've been going there since 2000 with a total of 12 animals over the years. He was always thorough and took his time with his patients. He always examined them thoroughly and provided us with excellent support when it was time to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
