Reviews
Ms. De Vries is always patient and loving with my cats. The veterinary assistants are also friendly and helpful.
Our daughter had an appointment with you today for her cat Luna to be spayed. Unfortunately, she was late because she got stuck in a construction site she didn't know about, as she's never usually in Hohenlimburg. However, she called you to let you know that she would be a few minutes late. Instead of arriving at 8:00 a.m., she arrived around 8:11 a.m. and at that point, her appointment and the cat's appointment were canceled. I'm sorry, but I have absolutely no understanding for this, especially since you were so rude. In the past, I've never been seen on time for my appointments, whether with a human doctor or a vet, even if it was only a few minutes late. You can't just cancel a surgery appointment because of a measly 11 minutes. And then to say that you and your employees are always on time. Yes, you work there too and know about the construction site. But you don't know about new customers! Perhaps you could instruct your staff to inform pet owners about the construction work when they call and advise them to allow extra travel time. And let me tell you something else: you acted completely wrongly in the animal's best interests. The cat was very upset for nothing. Your pet is important to us! It says so on your website. Luna didn't notice any of that today, and that's the sad part. If you had a bad night, I'm sorry, but please don't take your bad mood out on animals or people. Rest assured that other veterinary practices share our opinion. Have a wonderful Christmas season, and perhaps you'll have some time to reflect.
I am extremely upset about the treatment I received at the veterinary clinic. My dog has been treated there since she was a puppy. At the time, we were advised against spaying her, with the explanation that it was "cosmetic surgery" (!!!), even though there were medical reasons against it. In my opinion, this borders on gross negligence because it's simply incomprehensible, and my dog now has to deal with the health consequences. Years later, she developed a tumor in her abdomen – without any thorough diagnostic workup, such as an ultrasound. After the surgery, unusual symptoms were dismissed as "normal" without any careful examination. When her condition deteriorated drastically, we were given only the choice between euthanasia or emergency surgery. At the veterinary hospital, it turned out to be a uterine infection and a splenic tumor – both acutely life-threatening. How much of this could have been prevented with timely diagnosis and other appropriate decisions??? Truly disappointing, especially when it involves living beings.
I just have to say thank you, even though letting our cat go was a difficult situation... you make us feel incredibly well cared for – personally, as animals, and professionally. I don't understand why people write negative reviews; you shouldn't always comment on everything. In my opinion, the team and Dr. De Vries are a practice I would rate 10 stars for. Keep up the great work! 🫶
For me, Dr. de Vries is a veterinarian with a true calling, who always acts in the best interests of the animal. I have personally experienced how emergencies (including new clients) were seen immediately—a level of helpfulness that is rare these days. I cannot understand the previous negative comment, as it doesn't match my personal experience with this warm and welcoming practice at all. For me, she's the best choice. Thank you so much, Dr. de Vries, for always being there with help and advice... keep up the good work! Dr. de Vries always schedules her surgery appointments so that she can give each animal the attention it deserves and that all are well cared for. And quite honestly, if you have a surgery appointment, you leave early, regardless of whether you know the area or not! I also find it strange that a father would write a review for his "adult daughter" when he wasn't even present.
