Reviews
**Please note the new address!** Old address: Köthener Str. 34 Mr. Gutschmidt is a true animal lover. He is direct, demanding, and assertive. However, helping the animal is his top priority. Thanks to his experience, Mr. Gutschmidt has built up a broad network of colleagues and acquaintances who can handle further diagnosis and treatment in difficult cases. Overall, we are very satisfied, even if his tone can sometimes be a bit rough. 🤷🏼♂️👍
Niels Gutschmidt is our trusted veterinarian and always there for us, even on weekends, like this time. He even performed emergency surgery on our cat. We want to say thank you for that. He is so calm, balanced, and professional in his work and in his interactions with pet owners and patients. Above all, he explains everything so well and involves the pet owners. That puts me at ease, and I'm always anxious. We can wholeheartedly recommend our veterinarian to everyone. With Mr. Gutschmidt, you are in very good hands. A big thank you from us!
The best vet I know. He truly cares for his patients with all his heart and soul. Almost two years ago, I brought my cat to him. He was very close to death because he was suffering from hyperthyroidism. My regular vet prescribed a medication that, due to his poor liver function, should never have been administered. He became very ill afterward, so I went to Dr. Gutschmidt. It was very straightforward. I called, and I was able to come in immediately. He told me that the medication was extremely dangerous for cats with poor liver function. We went there every day, and he essentially saved our cat. Our cat is now 16, and thanks to the medication Dr. Gutschmidt prescribed, he's doing well, all things considered. What I also really appreciated was that he called me after the treatment to ask how my cat was doing. He's truly the best vet ever! I highly recommend him. And his prices are reasonable, too.
Niels Gutschmidt—an excellent veterinarian with sound expertise and a good feel for his patients. He saved my dog's life yesterday—my trusted veterinarian for many years.
Our vet is on vacation, and all the other vets are either closed or scheduling appointments. Based on the good reviews, I asked for help here. I received a curt and annoyed response, which was quite rude. Our dog has vulvar pain, discharge, and a bad odor... we desperately need help. The reply came promptly: "I'm not operating today; I'm going on vacation tomorrow!" Unbelievable! Talking about surgery without a diagnosis, without even knowing the dog or her age. And yes, they've certainly earned their vacation, like all of us who work, but apparently, my dog isn't to blame. If you can't even show empathy anymore, you should quit your job.
