Reviews
We take our dog Appa to the veterinary practice at Rotenbühl, and I'm absolutely delighted. It's a wonderful, welcoming practice, and you immediately feel at home there. Everyone is incredibly kind and friendly, and the way they interact with the animals is simply beautiful to see. My dog is always treated gently, calmly, and lovingly, and you can tell right away that they truly have a big heart for dogs. The vet is very empathetic, attentive to the dog's needs, and always explains everything clearly and understandably. You feel taken seriously and in good hands. I wholeheartedly recommend this practice to everyone and am so grateful to have found such a great veterinary practice for Appa.
My dog went to the vet for an examination during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the clinic's rules, I wasn't allowed to be present during the examination. When I pointed out that my dog probably wouldn't cooperate, I received a curt reply: "We've examined much bigger dogs." After a few minutes, the vet came rushing out and asked for my help. In the final report, in addition to the diagnosis, they wrote that my dog is aggressive (he's now a rescue dog). Thankfully, that time is over, and I no longer need to use that vet. While their expertise may have been good, their approach was lacking in terms of human interaction.
My impressions of this place have been positive for 25 years. Before I had cats, I always took my rabbits there. I can't say a single bad thing about any of the treatments or the veterinarians! However, the receptionist, who I think has perhaps been at the practice a bit too long and has become somewhat complacent, even tried to throw me out today because she claimed we simply showed up with an emergency without calling! Unfortunately, I can't upload anything here, otherwise I would have included the call log. It was definitely an emergency, as the cat (a stray) needs to be euthanized. They said I could leave a message on the answering machine and that I would be called back. The question is always when, and apparently, the line doesn't pick up if it's constantly busy. We all know the drill. In the end, they portray the customer as the bad guy and themselves as the victim. Thankfully, you don't have to call a hospital in advance if you break a leg or have an emergency. It's perfectly clear that everyone is overwhelmed and overworked, and they're supporting the vets, but this was appalling. Her colleague even rolled her eyes when I suggested we could go somewhere else, even to the clinic if necessary. I will definitely discuss this and consult another vet for my three cats, two of whom I was planning to have treated there soon for their teeth, which would have cost almost €2000. They probably think there will always be sick animals and don't care about existing customers or good customer relations. In our company, the customer is king! Even if they can sometimes be very difficult. It's a real shame after such a long time.
