Tierarztpraxis Dr.med.vet. Schumacher

For me and my dog, who is so afraid of the vet, he's the best in his field. I'm extremely satisfied and can highly recommend him.

(First of all, I don't want to make any false accusations.) Initially, we were very satisfied, hence the second star. However, during a recent treatment, something was done to the dog's ears (I don't remember the details), and immediately afterward, the dog's hearing deteriorated drastically. Now, you have to go into the room where the dog is for him to hear you. Our dog is 15 years old, and it's not inconceivable that they can become deaf at that age. However, this is truly suspicious, especially since the dog reportedly yelped while the vet was working on his ears.

I took my dog ​​there because he had leg pain. The vet didn't spend much time examining him and didn't explain much about the treatment. I would have appreciated a bit more conversation. The diagnosis was that there was something wrong with his toe (which wasn't true, as I had already seen another vet). After the quick diagnosis, the leg wasn't checked further up at the shoulder to see if the pain might be coming from there (which, by the way, was the cause of the pain). When I took my dog ​​off the examination table, the vet had already left the room, so I didn't know exactly what the next steps in the treatment would be. I only found out from the staff at the front desk. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. In summary, I personally didn't find the vet friendly (which doesn't say anything about his competence), and a misdiagnosis was made. In some situations, this could have serious consequences. However, the staff were very friendly and took the time to answer my questions.

I've been seeing Dr. Schumacher for many years with various animals. He cares for the animals very competently and conscientiously. He explains everything down to the smallest detail. Our kiwi was put down on December 31, 2017. A little over an hour after we called to make an appointment, Dr. Schumacher came to our home. He also supported us and gave us a sense of security. The entire practice team provides excellent support for both animals and people.

I'm very happy with Dr. Schumacher. He takes a lot of time with my two dogs and gives very good advice. He's not one of those vets who just wants to make money off your pet or who immediately prescribes medication. I feel very well looked after at the practice. It's a truly fantastic practice with a wonderful, friendly team and a very competent doctor who is passionate about his job.
