Hi... Needing medical care is certainly not a pleasant experience. Whether it's scheduling an appointment, waiting time, parking, explanation of the treatment, the practice team... oh, what am I saying... everything was/is friendly and very pleasant. I feel very well cared for and treated, and promptly without long waiting times. THANK YOU
The practice is fantastic! The staff is friendly and competent! Dr. Hauenherm is more than competent and knows what he's doing. I can highly recommend these people. They really help you there. Of course, it took a little while to get an appointment, but I'm not the only one who needs medical help or services. Many thanks to the entire practice.
I left the doctor's office very abruptly after my appointment today (the appointment was at 9:30 a.m., and by 9:37 a.m. I was already back in my car). During this time, I spent in the waiting room, had my medical history taken by a medical assistant, and then spoke with the doctor. I left the office feeling emotionally distressed. My reason for seeking treatment was a follow-up prescription for physiotherapy and an evaluation of existing severe symptoms. My family doctor had previously issued an initial prescription after a thorough examination. The underlying issue is long-standing pain in my cervical and thoracic spine. Both my occupational therapist and my physiotherapist independently diagnosed joint dysfunction in these areas, as well as increased muscle tone along my spine, and deemed further physiotherapy necessary. During the consultation, I barely had the opportunity to fully explain my situation. The doctor focused very early on individual symptoms (including dizziness and eye problems), did not attribute them to the orthopedic field, and saw no overall need for treatment. References to existing findings from other therapeutic disciplines were not addressed. A physical examination was not conducted despite my current complaints. Physiotherapy was deemed not beneficial. I had already consulted the doctor in September due to years of persistent back and neck pain, accompanied by other symptoms such as dizziness and numbness. At that time, instead of therapeutic support, I was advised to go to the gym (quote: "You have broad shoulders, there's potential there.") and to find exercises on YouTube myself. I was also told that one or two bouts of lumbago per year, which I experience regularly, were "simply bad luck." Physiotherapy was not considered beneficial at that time either. At today's appointment, I was asked in a clearly accusatory tone what I had actually done since the September appointment, mentioning that he had advised me to do yoga and Pilates back then. In my view, there was no objective assessment of previous measures taken or a constructive discussion about their effectiveness. Only after further inquiries was I finally issued a prescription for physiotherapy. This prescription only covered four treatment sessions. Based on my previous experience and compared to standard prescriptions, I felt this was far too limited given my symptoms. The way the prescription was issued gave me the impression that it was given reluctantly. Overall, I found the communication, both today and at the previous appointment, to be unresponsive and not solution-oriented. In my opinion, my individual situation and my desire for structured therapeutic support were not adequately addressed. Based on these experiences, I cannot recommend this orthopedist. I would also like to add that there is a monitor in the waiting room displaying the full name of each patient being called, which is also read aloud by a computer voice. This makes it clear to everyone present who is currently being treated. I personally found this uncomfortable and, from a data protection perspective, at least problematic.
