We took our cat for his booster shots, so it was our first time at the modern veterinary practice in Stralsund, so I can't really say much yet, but first impressions count 😉. The atmosphere was very pleasant, there was hardly any waiting time, the veterinary assistant was quick and friendly, and the vet was competent. He answered all my questions, and we felt well advised and treated.

I took my dog to Dr. Marx on Monday. For the past few days, she seemed to be in a lot of trouble; she was yelping more frequently throughout the day and had an unusual posture. Up until then, I suspected a possibly pinched shoulder. I already got a strange impression at reception. They asked me what was wrong with my dog. While I was answering, they just left me standing there. Dr. Marx gave her an injection and some medication. Unfortunately, my dog didn't improve. On Wednesday, I went back and asked for help because she was still visibly unwell. Dr. Marx simply said he didn't know either, and that my dog was just sensitive. I was quite angry about this statement because my dog was anything but sensitive. I decided to get a second opinion. The other vet looked at my dog for exactly 10 seconds and diagnosed her with a slipped disc. She got an injection, which she handled very bravely. Her medication, I was told, was too low a dose for a herniated disc. My dog is now being cared for, receiving cortisone and plenty of rest. We have another appointment tomorrow, but I can already see that my dog is visibly better! Anyone wanting a professional opinion and a proper examination of their animal should therefore find a different veterinarian than Dr. Marx. He might be okay for nail trimming. Best regards from my hypersensitive dog with the herniated disc.

The women at the reception desk were very unfriendly and uninformed. They sold me expired medication. I will never, ever visit this practice again and cannot recommend it to anyone.
