The cat is obviously in pain?...never mind, waiting room...and the couple already waiting has to be seen first, of course...my cat is still breathing...so...(oh, your cat is in great pain with this illness, either go to the pharmacy now and hope for the best or have it euthanized)

We had an appointment with Dr. Böckel for our Hovawart because of laryngeal paralysis. We had been there before and he was able to help Kiro very well! We liked his empathetic manner, so we went back to his practice with complete confidence. Unfortunately, Dr. Böckel was apparently having surgeries, so we were seen by Dr. Linke. First, she questioned the diagnosis, then she criticized all the presented findings as insufficient! More lab work was ordered. The blood values, as with our regular vet, were all normal! The price alone shocked me! A basic blood test for over 300 euros! Since I have comparable results, I have to say, they're making a lot of money here! Now the doctor wanted to perform a laryngoscopy and an MRI! This was to confirm whether it might actually be laryngeal paralysis. She said the shortness of breath could be caused by an enlarged thyroid gland! That's how it felt when she palpated it. That's not true either, as all the thyroid levels are normal. The MRI alone would have cost €1800! We asked for time to think it over! Our dog is having surgery in Dresden today! No MRI, as a laryngoscopy is sufficient! The diagnosis from our vet, which she questioned, is correct! The total cost is a third less than in Chemnitz!

I'm fully aware that this isn't a discussion forum, but I'd like to divide my experience into two parts and "words of wisdom." We came in with two cruciate ligament tears after five other vets hadn't diagnosed anything. Here, a trained eye made the correct diagnosis in just one minute. The surgery was scheduled very quickly. We called ahead to make an appointment, and it was 12 days later – thank you for even taking us on, as that's unfortunately not common practice anymore. The explanation was excellent, and the costs were communicated beforehand. The surgery went perfectly. They even offered telephone support over the holidays. Follow-up appointments were professional and timely. In short, a great find. Now for something personal: Things are always emotional with veterinarians and animals in general. But: when you read some of the reviews here, it seems like they're written by amateur vets who obviously know more than the experienced, university-trained doctors. I have plenty of these "yes, but" types as clients myself. Honestly, folks: If you're not willing to spend a measly 30 euros on your pet, then your love for animals can't be that strong. If you can diagnose things yourself, why go to the vet? Loss is always hard, and if you don't feel helped, you get a second opinion.

A very insensitive vet. I brought my cat in, who had suddenly become very weak, wasn't eating or drinking – he just lay there. The vet said she couldn't do anything without blood tests, which I honestly find hard to believe. She questioned everything I said – I found that incredibly insensitive. As if I were lying about his medical history or something. I found her very unpleasant, especially given my emotional state and the decision to have my cat put down. On top of that, the cost was extremely high because it was an emergency service. I understand a small surcharge, but €420 for euthanasia...

This vet has expertise, but she only uses it for money. Unfortunately, no one here cares about the animal or its well-being. It's all about the money. Very disappointing.
