Dr. Steffen Hoffmann

I simply cannot understand the good reviews. On Friday evening, around 9:30 p.m., we found a cat that had been hit by a car in the street. When we called the emergency veterinary clinic, Dr. Hoffmann, his only concern was how to get paid as quickly as possible when we brought the animal in. At the same time, I called the animal welfare organization, who assured us that they would cover the bill and that we should do everything necessary to save the animal. When we arrived at the clinic with the severely injured cat, and it was clear that Dr. Hoffmann would be paid, he looked at the cat for 30 seconds, neither palpating its body nor telling us what he was going to inject. Aside from the fact that he injected the pain medication into the cat's neck (a practice that hasn't been standard practice for a long time, as this can lead to inoperable tumors, especially in cats), the medication was far too high a dose, since he didn't even bother to weigh the animal. The cat wasn't aggressive, so he was easy to handle. We got the impression that he would have preferred to euthanize the cat on the spot. Some of his comments were very unempathetic. For example, he questioned why we were taking an injured animal off the street, since no normal person would do that. We decided that the animal shelter would take care of the cat and handle everything else. Dr. Hoffmann then dismissed us with the words, "And you're off to the party now?", which was also very tasteless, as the atmosphere was clearly tense and we were very upset. Fortunately, the animal shelter picked up the cat and handed it over to Dr. Kupper. He will operate on the cat on Monday and is very confident that he will make it.

We went to Mr. Hoffmann's vet around 9:30 pm with a cat that had been hit by a car. He didn't care about anything as long as he got paid… it couldn't have been more unprofessional. The animal was injured and bleeding, and his only words were that no normal person picks up a cat that's been hit by a car and takes it to the vet. But any normal person with even a little empathy would do that. I'd give him zero stars if I could! He even gave the cat an overdose of medication, and it almost died… I have no words for this man. Go to a different vet.

Animal emergency call Saturday evening, 10:30 PM. A cat had swallowed fishing line and it was stuck. With the right technique and a steady hand, it was removed before serious injuries occurred. Thank you very much, Mr. Hoffmann.

On our morning walk, our French Bulldog must have eaten something poisonous. So we had to go to the emergency vet immediately. We arrived at the clinic at 6:30 a.m. after a quick phone call. Dr. Hoffmann was very kind and helpful. The dog is doing better. Super fast help. Thank you.

On our way to Croatia, our dog got a foxtail awn stuck in his ear at a rest stop, causing him severe pain. Although he wasn't officially on duty (it was the weekend), Dr. Hoffmann treated him and surgically removed the awn under anesthesia. We have rarely met such a wonderful, competent, and genuinely compassionate veterinarian, and we are incredibly grateful that we can now continue our journey and that everything worked out so well.
