Shortness of breath, rattling breathing sounds, fainting, paralysis... These are the symptoms I described when I called the emergency veterinary service on Thursday evening, shortly after 10 p.m. The answer came with a highly professional "Yes?" on the other end of the line, so I had to ask if I was even in the right place. In my opinion, one could certainly work on their manners if they're going to volunteer for the emergency service. Who exactly did I speak to on the phone? I would guess Dr. Luennemann herself. I described the symptoms, and then I was asked to check if the tongue was pink. It was, as far as I could tell as a layperson. Then the question arose whether the animal was on any medication... It is, but administering it wasn't possible because the animal was just lying motionless and suffering, not eating or drinking. I explained that my cat had been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy some time ago, which is why she's on these medications. I told her I suspected she might have fluid in her lungs (pulmonary edema, which can occur with her condition). Her recommendation: I should try to get the medication into her somehow and then wait. A car ride would be too stressful for her in this condition anyway. So I took a syringe and dissolved the medication in water and gave it to her orally. At least that worked; luckily, I had this idea in a pinch. I waited... My cat calmed down a bit, but you could tell she was struggling. I stayed up all night praying that the diuretics would eventually take effect and drain the fluid from her lungs. I didn't sleep a wink until we went straight to our regular vet in the morning. There, we were able to say a beautiful and dignified goodbye to our 4-year-old Pepper. Her lungs were already full of blood, and the poor little thing was too weak. Acute pulmonary edema... ...as a layperson would suspect. I'm the kind of person who always assumes that what a doctor tells you is well-intentioned, and I don't presume to know better. In this case, however, it seemed as if I had bothered someone who wasn't really motivated to help me. We knew from the diagnosis that this day would come eventually, as it was a slowly progressing and incurable heart failure, and perhaps nothing more could have been done for her, but it might have spared her hours of suffering. We had the pleasure of visiting this practice a few years ago. The first visit was positive. Our older cat has a chronic skin condition, for which they sold us a special, rather expensive food. That's not the issue, as far as it helps. Our older dog, however, developed severe diarrhea from it, like a fountain of water, throughout the entire feeding period. Dr. [Name]'s reaction: "That's a shame, but a little diarrhea isn't so bad." ... I think it is. Especially when it lasts for days. After a shrug, they didn't know what else to do. The food was stopped. I then received medication, which at least provided temporary relief. I appreciated that. During the first visit, our older dog was also examined thoroughly. "Oh, her teeth don't look good, a lot of tartar, but first we'll take care of the skin problem." When I brought up her teeth the next time, they suddenly looked perfectly fine. That was the reason I decided to find a new practice, as I felt that statements were made depending on their mood. One day this, the next day that. All in all, it's a beautiful and modern practice with friendly staff. However, I felt terribly let down when it came to the emergency service. We are devastated. I wish we could have made things easier for her...

A wonderfully friendly and competent team. I got an appointment very quickly, and the on-site consultation was excellent. The little patient came through everything well and isn't afraid to come back.

You always wish for such friendly and loving staff and a veterinarian. My little budgie had to be euthanized, and it was done in such a loving way that I am incredibly grateful. The vet even took time for me. It may just be a little bird to many, but for us, it was a member of the family for over a decade. Thank you so much for your compassion. If we ever get another pet, this practice will definitely be my first choice.

A wonderful practice with a very kind and empathetic team! We had to have our little furry friend Kurt put down on short notice on October 30, 2025, due to his suffering (kidney failure). We weren't actually patients of this practice, but unfortunately, we had to go to Ines Lünnemann's practice because our regular vet and, sadly, the previous practice as well, were fully booked that day. I called them in the early afternoon, explained the situation, and despite the fact that, according to them, they didn't really have time either, they allowed us to go. We received a wonderful and warm welcome, and from the very beginning until the sad end, we—and certainly Kurt—felt very comfortable. We were given the necessary time to say goodbye to Kurt until he peacefully fell asleep in our arms. Afterwards, the practice also took care of contacting Rosengarten, who picked up Kurt from our home the following day for cremation. Yes, we were allowed and wanted to take Kurt home with us afterwards, so that our son, as well as all the grandparents and everyone else, could say goodbye to him in peace. All in all, this practice deserves 5 stars (or even more), and if we decide to get another furry friend, we would like to be able to choose this practice as our regular veterinary clinic.
