A huge thank you to Dr. Marten! Without him, our 2-month-old baby cat would probably no longer be alive. We called Dr. Marten yesterday (a Saturday) morning because our kitten hadn't eaten or drunk for almost 24 hours, and his breathing was heavy and churning. Without much question, we were supposed to see the doctor an hour later. The little one was immediately helped and given medication, and that same evening we noticed a significant improvement, and the little one was almost back to his former self. He was boisterous again, and eating and drinking were also improving. Today (Easter Sunday) we're coming back at noon for a follow-up treatment, which we did. The doctor takes the owners' concerns very seriously and is very caring towards both animals and people. The price for the treatment is absolutely more than fair! There's absolutely nothing negative I could say, and I will definitely go to this vet in the future!
We were in the vet's office today for an emergency with our 8.5-week-old puppy suffering from bloody diarrhea and were very impressed by Dr. Marten's kind manner. The actual veterinarian who would have served our area couldn't be reached by phone, so we looked at the nearest one and found Dr. Marten. We were allowed to come in immediately and received a very warm welcome. As newbies, we just had to figure out where to park. 😅 We are very grateful. We would be happy to come back in an emergency; the trip was worth it.
I am very disappointed with my experience at this veterinary practice. My one-year-old dog, Maple, had blood tests that, according to another veterinarian, indicate stage 4 kidney failure – an acute emergency. I have attached the corresponding lab results as an image to this review. These results clearly show a very serious kidney problem (including massively elevated kidney parameters). However, when the lab results were available, the doctor did not clearly and unambiguously communicate to me over the phone how critical the situation actually was. I had to ask several times myself to understand how serious the situation was. I did not receive a clear recommendation to go to an animal hospital immediately and start IV fluid therapy right away. Instead, I was told to wait until the next day. I was also advised to wait until tomorrow and visit the clinic of the practice's daughter, as they have a new and particularly modern ultrasound machine. In an acute emergency, I would have expected my dog's well-being to be the absolute priority, and I would have been advised to immediately seek appropriate emergency care – regardless of its location. Unfortunately, I got the impression that referring the matter within my own family was prioritized, rather than clearly recommending immediate external emergency care. Furthermore, I was promised a callback to schedule an appointment, which never came. Especially in an emotionally charged situation, as a pet owner, you rely on transparent, clear, and urgent communication. Sadly, I didn't receive this, which has severely damaged my trust in the practice.
