Dr. Schieren is available around the clock. He's always reachable in emergencies and arrives immediately. He has helped many horses at our boarding stable and always takes the time to address the owners' questions and concerns. He explains procedures and background information thoroughly and always has the right answer to every question my 6-year-old daughter asks. His wonderful assistant is always friendly and helpful. We couldn't wish for a better veterinarian for our four-legged friends. A huge thank you and much praise for his excellent work!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Schieren during a colic emergency at night, and I haven't been so impressed by a veterinarian in a long time. Despite the pony's pain and prior medication, he administered the sedation for the nasogastric tube so precisely that it remained awake enough to stand stably and quickly regain full consciousness after the tube was inserted. He placed the tube with remarkable anatomical skill, and there was no blood on the tube or the pony's nose after its removal. He expertly assessed and combined the necessary fluids to steadily stabilize the pony, and he clearly and honestly explained the situation at all times. The pony's chances of survival were modest, and its success is due to the excellent work of the veterinarian. Good veterinarians have become increasingly rare in our area in recent years, and while I'm so glad to have met him now, I wish I had known him sooner. For many, he has undoubtedly been a true institution here for a long time, and his friendly and approachable manner is something most owners and keepers appreciate. Thank you for everything!

Dr. Schieren provided excellent treatment for my Connemara mare. Thanks to his availability (Sunday evening), professional equipment, and his empathy and expertise, he was able to surgically treat a rather unusual 8 cm deep puncture wound (caused by the tip of a lunge whip) on an outpatient basis. The injury was near a joint and painful. The pony received excellent acute and follow-up care, allowing the wound to heal quickly without further infection. Thank you so much!
