Reviews
I'm shocked at how she dismisses small animals without a proper examination. Upon entering, I was greeted by a very friendly dog. There was no one in the practice, not even in the waiting room. I cautiously called out "Hello," to which I received a "Hello" in return, but not from the veterinarian, I suspect from the assistant. The veterinarian finished her cigarette before coming down from her terrace and telling me to expect a long wait and that I should come back tomorrow. Again, the practice was empty. When I mentioned that my hamster was missing an eye and an ear and asked her to examine him immediately, she replied, "He'll have to be euthanized!" She hadn't even seen him yet. I explained that he was still eating and active. Annoyed, she picked him up, went into the examination room for about 10 seconds, came back, and said the eye would have to be surgically removed, but she wasn't going to do it. I was told to prepare my children, who were with me, that he would soon die, and if he stopped eating, I should come back and she would euthanize him. The only explanation I can come up with for the positive reviews is that she might be better with dogs and cats and couldn't care less about small animals. So, it's best not to take your little pets to this practice, and especially not your children. My son (5) cried bitterly afterward.
I've been seeing Ms. Deuker with my Chihuahua for a few months now. I decided to see her spontaneously because my previous vet was unfortunately difficult to reach. Ms. Deuker knew immediately what was going on and is very caring. Her fees are very fair, and I get great appointments. I feel very well looked after and will continue to see her.
I took my puppy to Dr. Deuker's veterinary practice for his vaccinations and felt comfortable from the very first moment. Both the vet and the veterinary assistant were incredibly kind and gentle with my little one. You can immediately tell that they work with a lot of heart and expertise. I can highly recommend Dr. Deuker's practice – we'll definitely be back!
If I could, I'd give zero stars! I rescued an injured hedgehog in front of my children's school and was looking for help for it. After trying to contact various organizations, I decided, due to the time difference, to take the little creature to this vet. Even on the phone, she made it clear that she didn't care and couldn't take care of it. I told her I had my kids and we needed help for the animal. She tried to brush me off, saying she couldn't. However, I think an animal in need shouldn't just be left alone, so I went there and left the hedgehog with her. No greeting, no kindness... I still hope the hedgehog gets the help it needs. And for next time, when children are involved, please show more kindness. They simply wanted to help because hedgehogs are on the endangered species list.
Unfortunately, we had a bad experience and had to find a different veterinarian after a short time. ✅ The only positive aspect was the initial contact – we got an appointment quickly, and the concept of first getting the puppy used to the practice sounded well thought out. 🐕 First Appointment – Getting to Know Each Other: When we entered the practice, Ms. Deuker was smoking in the garden, and her dog greeted us. The smell of smoke then drifted into the examination room – you have to like that. The "examination" was limited to a brief listening with a stethoscope. No check of the ears or teeth, no weighing, no questions about eating habits. For a puppy, all of that is actually part of a first health check. When we asked for tips on housebreaking, we were literally advised to "give him a good scolding." That's the complete opposite of what modern dog training recommends – positive reinforcement instead of punishment. That's when we started to get a bad feeling 😬 💉 Second appointment – vaccination: There was no explanation of possible side effects (lethargy, loss of appetite, etc.) or what we should watch out for in the following days. The injection was given to our puppy so roughly, as if he were an old horse. Normally, this is done with a bit of finesse so the animal doesn't develop a fear of the vet. Our little one struggled with the after-effects of the vaccination for two days. 📄 Billing: We only received a proper invoice after asking for one – and even that was incorrect. Neither the appointments nor the charges matched up. We subsequently found another vet and are more than happy with our decision. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm the positive reviews at all.
