A woman asked for help, saying her dog was choking, had swallowed something, and was having trouble breathing. We were in Ückeritz at the time, and it was 8 pm. Of course, no regular vet was open, so we quickly googled the emergency vet number (which, of course, is a paid call). The vet said he'd come and then hung up, so we called again to maybe get some advice or another number. The annoyed vet said, "You already called about Chivava having trouble breathing!" Of course, I called again. The dog had something stuck in his throat, was having trouble breathing, and we desperately needed advice or help! How can you call yourself an emergency service when you have the empathy of a piece of toast? Sometimes, giving advice over the phone is enough. In the end, the woman went to the clinic in Greifswald. I hope little Chivava makes it.

We thought long and hard about whether to write a review. But this is the third time we've been turned down. Our cat has cat flu, which means he occasionally gets eye infections. Unfortunately, these infections come without warning, and as is often the case, just before the weekend. The practice is open until 6 p.m. We wanted to check in at 3:30 p.m., and lo and behold...the practice doesn't have the capacity for us again. It's great when things are going so well for the practice. Unfortunately, that doesn't help my cat. They immediately said they'd be open tomorrow and we could maybe try, but probably without success, because they're full tomorrow too. It's really frustrating and disappointing when you want to help your pet and you keep getting turned down at this practice.
