Incident: Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 My cat stopped urinating. I initially observed to see if he would, but by evening realized he was completely unable to. He vomited. My usual veterinarian in Annaberg wasn't available until Easter Monday and urgently advised me over the phone to seek help from another emergency vet due to a life-threatening condition (potassium buildup in the kidneys and later in the heart). My next call for help was to this person in Gelenau (whose license should be revoked). After three attempts, she finally answered the phone (around 8 PM). She asked, irritated, if I had any painkillers at home (very unprofessional for a cat in this profession). She offered a diagnosis remotely without even examining the animal, and to brush me off, she told me to go to my usual vet on Easter Monday. I asked politely whether she was on call or not, but she reacted very irritably and dismissively when I said I needed 1.5 hours to get there, that she wouldn't wait around until the pet owners had time to come by. Clearly, she couldn't be bothered and, despite being on call until 6 a.m. on Easter Monday, would rather celebrate Easter. We certainly have better things to do than worry about finding on-call vets at Easter. A very friendly vet in Lichtenau, whom we asked for help, was very helpful, shook her head at her "colleague's" actions, but had to go into surgery and advised us to see a vet in Chemnitz because, quote, "life-threatening condition." The vet in Chemnitz said, quote, "life-threatening condition, catheterization required under general anesthesia, he had no means of ventilation and referred us to an animal hospital in Leipzig (a top-notch institution)." The vet in Chemnitz said that the "colleague" in Gelenau was on call from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. and just shook his head at this incompetent woman. Arriving in Leipzig at 11:15 PM, they shook their heads at this woman from Gelenau, wondering how she could act like that despite being on call. They said her condition was life-threatening and required a catheter, kidney flushing, and blood tests. The patient will remain hospitalized in Leipzig for several days. We prefer to send our money there, but we're glad we didn't go to this person in Gelenau. Absolutely not recommended. Go directly to competent doctors and save yourself the trip to this person. Completely unsuitable for this job. We will never, ever contact this person again regarding any medical matter.

Our cat had a severe bladder infection, so we wanted to go to Dr. Schulz because she was on call. We called and were immediately put off until the next day – because the on-call fee was quite high. Two hours later, and with his condition having deteriorated significantly, we still wanted to take our cat to the vet, but despite being on call, she was no longer available. It was very disappointing. We then drove to another on-call vet in a different district, who said our cat's condition was life-threatening. Thankfully, there are still motivated vets who want to help. But if you're not reachable, there's no point in having an on-call service.

We've always been more than satisfied. But today, a huge thank you again. What vet answers the phone on a Sunday evening? And then says right away, "Come immediately!" I wouldn't give a single star here. I've never experienced such a bad veterinarian. As an emergency patient, I was treated dismissively. The dog wasn't even allowed to sniff the vet. Respect for the owner was sorely lacking. Absolutely no explanation. A quick "fob" and, on top of that, extremely expensive! You're already shocked by the price on site, and then, without warning, you get a bill sent to your home. NEVER again will I subject myself and my dog ​​to such treatment! But I don't know how she can afford so many employees, the house, and the horses. Pure rip-off...
