We visited our vet a few weeks ago for our first consultation regarding neutering our dog. The vet and his assistants were incredibly friendly and gave us a very thorough consultation – exactly what we needed. We were in the examination room for a total of fifteen minutes. The vet also examined our dog. While we were very satisfied with everything, the bill was unfortunately quite steep – we were charged three consultation fees totaling almost €90. I find that very expensive for a 15-minute consultation.
A fantastic vet and really good staff! They were very attentive to my sensitive dog and took plenty of time to explain everything! Everyone was also very understanding and gave me and my dog plenty of time, as he didn't want to come in. I highly recommend Mr. Kuschel and his team!
The best vet I've ever had. Very compassionate and helpful. He explained everything clearly so I could understand it, too. My pet felt comfortable, too.
A great practice A friendly vet and a friendly team He was pleasant with my dog, and he explained the treatment and every single step in detail. He also gave me advice afterward. Highly recommended
I've been there several times now. I don't want to deny Dr. Kuschel's expertise. But in his case, the saying "stick to what you know" really applies. The last time I was there with my dog, as he needed his medication and my regular vet had listed him as a substitute while he was on vacation. I called on Monday and told the woman on the phone which medication I needed. You'd think that as a substitute, they would just give me the medication, but no, they wanted to see and examine my dog. Even a prescription from the veterinary clinic wasn't enough for them. I understand that they can't just hand out medication. But I don't understand why a confirmation from a veterinary clinic isn't sufficient. Well, I guess that's one way to make money. I went there on Wednesday, and the first thing Mr. Kuschel told me was that he didn't have the medication in stock and would have to order it. It probably wouldn't arrive this week. When I asked why they hadn't ordered it if I'd told them which one I needed on Monday, the only answer was, "We work with a different one; it's supposed to have the same active ingredient, it's just a copy of the original." He also questioned whether the neurologist had prescribed my dog a much too high dose. When I pointed out that with epilepsy, you shouldn't just switch medications back and forth, he dismissed it, saying, "It's the same active ingredient, and you can get the right one from your vet on Monday and give it to him." Ah, so another switch... He told me to just take it with me for now, and if I found the right one elsewhere, I could come back. I was surprised because I knew medications weren't returnable, but thinking it was the same active ingredient, I took it anyway. Luckily, I consulted with the neurologist, and he advised against giving the medication, as it would very likely trigger seizures. The clinic then sent a prescription to another practice, and my dog is now getting the correct tablets. When I returned the unopened package of Dr. Kuschel's tablets... He wanted to, but said he wasn't allowed to... The day before, he sounded quite different. He dismissed the suggestion that his medication could trigger new seizures. And I was even told to be glad I didn't have to pay for his consultation 😅😅 for advice I didn't want and which was technically incorrect 🤔🤔 Interesting, but it would have been typical of a practice that unfortunately often gives the impression of just wanting to make money. As I said, as a general practitioner, he might not be bad, but to lack the expertise to say "I don't know anything" and instead question the treatment is weak and dangerous. I'm glad that I'm familiar with epilepsy myself, and that his words sounded strange to me, and that the neurologist confirmed my suspicions. So, one star for his two female colleagues and a second because he certainly has expertise as a general practitioner. However, due to the prices and unnecessary things he bills for, I wouldn't recommend him.
