I've only been there three times and am so happy to have found this vet. I can rely on her to always have someone to talk to when it's important!
We have only positive things to say. The vet and staff are very nice and truly excellent. All the surgeries went very well. Even though our dog is always misbehaving, he receives excellent care there. Thank you so much for that :-) We really appreciate it. The Friedrich Family
Lifesavers after a dog attack 😘😘 (...and a visit to the clinic 😞) Our cat Gustav - affectionately called "Gustl" or "old man" - (18 years old, deaf, demented, outdoor cat, doesn't tolerate any other gods beside him 😂 and actually ALWAYS angry when he goes to the vet! 😎) was attacked by a strange dog on our property. There was nothing noticeable about him that evening, except that he came home with his tail as fluffy as a feather duster. It wasn't until the next evening that we realized something was wrong. He wasn't eating, wouldn't let us touch him, and was completely withdrawn. Since Regina was unavailable for duty for once, we went to the veterinary clinic in Kassel, where it was quickly discovered that he had a bite wound on his back, in the middle of his spine, which was, of course, already infected. Immediate surgery!!...that should have been it...that's what we and the doctor at the clinic thought...and we went to Regina the next day for a follow-up appointment. THANK GOD she realized right away that that couldn't have been it...a dog has teeth in its lower jaw too! Almost the entire left side of our little man was full of pus, from his spine down to the middle of his abdomen 😨😨. After two days of administering antibiotics directly into the wound, we were faced with a decision: another surgery under general anesthesia (longer this time because it was a larger operation) or give up and let our Gustl go to sleep 😭. Regina and her team were (are!) always completely honest and discussed the risks of this surgery (due to the short intervals between general anesthesia, his weak condition, and of course his age) and the costs with us...but since giving up was out of the question for everyone (Regina, her team, and us), and there was at least a small glimmer of hope for the little man, Regina took the plunge and operated on him again...and that was a good thing!!!!!! The evening after this surgery, he was feeling considerably better than after the first, and he was even hungry again. What we found particularly remarkable: Regina asked how Gustl was doing almost every day after the surgery – that's not something to be taken for granted, but it's her understanding of animal love, patient care, and can opener aftercare 👍👍👍👍. Gustl made it and is now almost back to his old self after 3 months...physically, you can't notice anything anymore, his fur has grown back, he's still a bit scared when he goes out (we have to be there and he stays close to us/within our sight)...and he's grumpy again when we go to Regina for a check-up 😂😂😂 Our moral: Gustl also seemed a bit nervous about his "clinic adventure." If he hurts again, he'll get to Dreuxallee as quickly as possible!!!!!! Thank you so much, Regina and team, for not giving up 😍😍😍😍😍
