This was our first vet, and we had a terrible experience right away. Everything was rushed, with comments like, "Yes, this wound isn't normal, and this isn't normal," which we already knew and why we took our dog there in the first place. The dog had a tick on his cheek, and it wasn't even removed. We paid around €230 just for that and two medications! €200 of that was just for his comments. He didn't even touch the dog. We paid €40 out of our own pocket for documents the insurance company required, just so they could fill out a form. We submitted a stool sample, and they said they would call us back, but to this day, we haven't received a single call. I would never recommend him! Expensive prices for nothing.
Here's my review of the pet boarding service! Our cat was in a boarding facility for the very first time, and after a good week, we got him back completely relaxed. 👍👍👍👍👍 Highly recommended.
We took our puppy to Dr. Schockhoven and were absolutely thrilled. He took a lot of time, explained everything in detail, and answered all our questions – especially since we were puppy first-timers and didn't know much about many things. You can immediately tell that he's passionate about what he does and has a wonderful way with both animals and people. The receptionist was also extremely friendly and helpful, so we felt completely at ease. A fantastic vet visit – he's our vet from now on! 🐶
I'm giving two stars for the quick appointment scheduling and one star for the friendly receptionist! Unfortunately, after only a few words, I found the veterinarian quite unpleasant. This continued throughout our conversation, and I got the feeling that he didn't really know my own pet. While it's always good to have more than one vet/practice to contact, this one unfortunately won't be our first or second choice in the future.
Dr. Schockhoven is a fantastic veterinarian who takes plenty of time for his animal patients and gives owners lots of helpful advice. Even outside of office hours, someone is available to give advice over the phone.
