Reviews
THE BEST!! We brought our 1 1/2-year-old Ruskiy Toy puppy to Dr. Specht. I had actually googled a dog dentist in Hamburg and read some great reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. Our little dog has a very severe overbite and simply doesn't have enough room for her teeth, which were practically doubled up, and food scraps were getting stuck everywhere because there was absolutely no space. The dog was obviously in pain when eating. She wasn't eating well, was very picky, and wasn't gaining weight properly, etc. I desperately needed a professional, and luckily, I found one. Dr. Specht immediately gave me a really good feeling, and I trusted him completely. He has an incredible range of experience and is an absolute pro! First, she had a week of antibiotics before the surgery due to the inflammation. Then came the surgery. Six lower front teeth had to be extracted; they were already completely loose and had partially dissolved into the bone. The surgery went very well. Our dog woke up feeling great and was already eating pureed food that evening after the operation. In the following days, I noticed that she was much more cheerful, had more energy, and really looked forward to her meals. After a week and a half, the stitches were removed under very light anesthesia, from which our dog woke up very quickly and was already happily running around the garden again at home. It's such a shame we didn't meet Dr. Specht sooner. That would probably have saved us a lot of trouble and helped a great deal. My absolute first choice for our dogs when it comes to their teeth! Totally caring, totally professional. Two thumbs up! 👍🙌👌
I took my dog to him for dental treatment and I'm so grateful to have found him. Especially since my dog has issues with anesthesia, I was quite worried at first – but he took that seriously from the very beginning. He took his time, explained everything calmly and clearly, and handled the situation very responsibly. You can tell immediately that he's a real expert and knows exactly what he's doing. At the same time, he has a pleasant sense of humor that puts you at ease. My dog was in excellent hands throughout the entire treatment, and I felt completely at ease the whole time. Everything went perfectly, and I would definitely go back to him. Highly recommended!
A very competent and friendly veterinarian. He performed a dental cleaning and treatment on our two Chihuahuas. Everything went perfectly and without complications. You can immediately tell that Dr. Specht specializes in dental treatments and has the necessary expertise in this field. Excellent!
Dr. O. Specht was a tremendous help to our cat Karuna. Having grown up as a stray with severe, now chronic, feline herpesvirus (FHV), his symptoms were always attributed to this and treated accordingly, without success. Karuna was in so much pain that his relationship with his adopted companion Loki (they were practically inseparable) suffered greatly. Through a recommendation, we went to Dr. Specht, who immediately diagnosed him with FORL. Using the X-rays and medical textbooks (online), he explained everything perfectly, even for a layperson like myself. Yes, the treatment may have been somewhat expensive, but his holistic approach to the animal and his loving manner gave me the confidence that Karuna was in the best hands. I am so grateful that Karuna can once again enjoy life with joy and pain-free companion Loki.
