Reviews
I can say with certainty that the Rottmeyer family veterinarian in Leipzig is undoubtedly the best I have ever encountered in my cat's entire life (even after some unfortunate visits to clinics and other veterinarians). Under her care, my cat received palliative care that improved his diagnosis and medication regimen in a way that, despite the sadness of his situation, gave me courage. The veterinarian, who possesses a wealth of experience, is a cornerstone of this practice. The advantage of it being a partner practice, which is always readily available, is invaluable. Her kindness and exceptional competence make every visit to her practice a truly pleasant experience, and one that is also minimally stressful for the animal. A particularly noteworthy aspect of her work is that she takes the time to explain the medications and procedures in detail and ensures that owners are not left alone (as I have unfortunately often experienced elsewhere). The coordinated work of the Rottmayer family, especially on a critical day, saved my cat's life after he suffered a pleural effusion (fluid in the lungs). Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment are truly admirable. In contrast, my experience at a private veterinary clinic in Leipzig was extremely disappointing, which, frankly, has led me to avoid going there again. The unpredictability of the on-call veterinarians and the constant changes are far from ideal for animals requiring long-term care. A smaller practice like Dr. Rottmayer's offers consistent and personalized care that is simply irreplaceable (precisely because she knows the animal so well). Dr. Rottmayer's experience and expertise are unparalleled. She is honest enough to recognize whether a treatment will improve an animal's quality of life or not. Her kind and caring manner makes visiting the clinic a pleasant experience, even during the most difficult times. Her skills as an animal surgeon are remarkable, and she can precisely assess which treatment method is best suited for the animal and when it's best to avoid certain options. Every time we leave the practice, my cat is noticeably better. He now willingly goes into his carrier when we go to the vet, and I think he somehow senses that he feels a little better after each visit. Overall, Dr. [Name] is the epitome of an outstanding veterinarian, and I am incredibly grateful for her care and dedication to my pet's well-being. Leipzig is truly fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and caring veterinarian in its city center.
A super nice and competent veterinarian. The practice is small, but well-equipped. Ultrasound is also available on-site. Without Dr. Rottmayer, our cat Bruno probably wouldn't be with us anymore... He's still very ill, but now that his condition has been diagnosed, his medication is working very well, and he's doing as well as can be expected. We highly recommend her!
The positive aspect: It was one of the few emergency vet clinics that even accepted our case that weekend. Nevertheless, I unfortunately cannot agree with the positive reviews. I took my seriously ill cat to the emergency clinic and found the care to be superficial. Despite clear warning signs such as refusal to eat, poor general condition, and dehydration, I didn't get the impression that a thorough examination was conducted. Shortly afterward, my cat had to be admitted to a hospital. I understand that not every diagnosis can be made immediately. However, in this situation, I would have expected more care, further diagnostic testing, and a more serious consideration of my observations.
The best veterinarian I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She cared for my Diego until the very end. She was always available and did everything she could to accommodate him. Thank you for everything. 100% recommended!
I had my dog examined by Dr. Rottmayer for breeding health checks (HCM and PKD) and I'm absolutely thrilled. She's incredibly kind, works efficiently, and explains everything clearly and calmly. You immediately feel you're in good hands. She was also very helpful and really took her time. Highly recommended!
