An absolutely devastating experience. What began as a supposedly routine procedure—the removal of a small wart from our dog's eyelid—ended with our dog going blind in one eye. Just one day after the procedure, his condition deteriorated dramatically: the eye became severely inflamed, his entire head swelled to an extreme degree, so much so that at times his oxygen intake was at risk. Our dog was in a life-threatening situation. When we contacted the veterinary practice in this acute emergency, we were essentially told that they couldn't help us. The result: after a visit to our regular vet, immediate admission to an animal hospital in Munich, almost a week of inpatient care, treatment costs of around €6,000, and the crushing diagnosis that our dog would most likely remain permanently blind in the affected eye. What was almost worse than the medical outcome was the way the practice handled it: absolutely no empathy, no compassion for the animal or us as owners, but instead a condescending, arrogant, and unpleasant tone. Particularly appalling: at no point was there any sign of insight, responsibility, or even the slightest acknowledgment that the procedure might have been the cause. Several independent veterinarians clearly saw a connection to the procedure, but all responsibility was reflexively denied. Mistakes can happen. But how a practice deals with the animal, its owners, and any potential complications afterward reveals its true character. We feel completely abandoned, both personally and professionally. We are more than satisfied with the practice. Our Rhodesian Ridgeback had bilateral entropion, which required surgery. After our initial contact, we received an appointment for the operation very quickly. On the day of the surgery, both we and our dog were treated with great understanding and kindness. Everything was explained very clearly. Now, about three weeks after the surgery, it's hardly noticeable that she had an operation. The scars have healed very well, and she no longer has any discomfort. We felt very well cared for and would definitely recommend the practice.
