I called this veterinarian in an emergency because our cat wasn't feeling well, and I wanted to know if we should bring him in or if we could observe him first. Instead of a helpful assessment, let alone any questions about his condition, I only received the response: "Well, you'll just have to come in – I don't know either, you're the one who should know." I was even ridiculed for my uncertainty. When I pointed out that, as a specialist, he should be in the best position to assess how we should proceed, the call was simply ended. I have rarely experienced such unprofessionalism and lack of empathy – very disappointing.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Dr. Köhler as an emergency veterinary service. We called on Sunday evening to get some advice and clarify whether we really needed to bring our dog in or if we could observe him first. When we described the situation, we received only the response: "I don't know, then you'll have to come in." The symptoms were barely addressed, no further questions were asked, and we found the conversation to be completely unsympathetic. Since our dog calmed down shortly afterward, we canceled the appointment. What disappointed us most was the way he handled us on the phone. After we canceled the appointment, we were told, "We shouldn't call again during the night if our dog's condition worsens, because he won't answer the phone then!" This statement made us very uneasy, as we got the impression that no further support would be forthcoming if our dog's condition actually deteriorated. Overall, we unfortunately did not feel that the animal's well-being was the priority. For this reason, we cannot recommend Dr. Köhler. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Köhler.

I would give minus five stars if I could. Completely incompetent, huge bills, and my cat wasn't even better off. All he cares about is making a lot of money. He couldn't care less about the animal. !!!!!!!

I can't understand the negative reviews about this vet. I took my outdoor cat there for treatment. He treats the animal very respectfully and gives it space during the examination. Outdoor cats can be a bit tricky to treat. He informed me very well and thoroughly about the vaccinations. It's worth noting that veterinary fees increased in November 2022. He didn't try to push any food on me or prescribe any medications for my cat. He simply made recommendations, and every pet owner can decide for themselves whether they want them for their animal or not. I feel very well cared for here and will continue to take my two other cats there for treatment. The mentioned clutter of office papers in the examination room is completely irrelevant as long as the vet is good with the animals. Personally, I even prefer that to a completely impersonal environment. It makes the vet feel more human.

Based on our personal experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend Mr. Köhler. We had to take our 9-month-old female dog to the emergency veterinary clinic because she had vomited several times and was clearly in poor condition. After the examination, several serious possibilities were discussed, including the possibility that we might lose her overnight. This greatly worried us as pet owners. Our dog was then given various medications, a deworming treatment (even though she had already been dewormed two weeks prior), and special food. Since we were told she was too weak for an X-ray that evening, we were to come back the next day. An initial deposit of €150 was requested for the treatment, with the final bill to be settled later. Overnight, her condition deteriorated significantly. She wouldn't let anyone near her and resisted any touching, which was completely out of character for her. Since we had been told to return the next day, I called Mr. Köhler and explained the situation. I specifically asked whether we should bring her in again despite her condition, or whether we should spare her the additional stress. I didn't receive a clear recommendation. Instead, I was told that I was in the best position to judge. However, that was precisely why I had called, because as a pet owner in this situation, I had hoped for expert advice. We then contacted a different emergency veterinary service. There, we received competent advice over the phone and were able to come in immediately. During the examination, it turned out that our dog had a foreign object in her stomach. They acted immediately and arranged for surgery. After the procedure, we were told that her condition had already been critical and that she might not have survived much longer. After the surgery, we were primarily relieved that our dog was still with us. We are all the more grateful that action was taken in time and that she is now on the road to recovery. A few days later, in addition to the €150 we had already paid, we received another bill for €230. After everything that had happened, we found this amount difficult to understand. We were particularly disappointed that the actual cause of the symptoms wasn't identified during the first visit. The diagnosis was only made by the other emergency veterinary service, which immediately initiated the necessary steps. Even the brief phone call the following day, in which I asked for advice about our dog's worsening condition, was charged separately. The costs seemed even less justifiable when we compared them to the bill from the second emergency vet. There, our dog was examined, x-rayed, and treated with an IV for several hours. Despite this significantly more work, the bill was lower than that of the first emergency vet (Mr. Köhler). When I subsequently called to ask for an explanation of the individual charges, the conversation, in our opinion, very quickly steered us toward involving a lawyer. This left us with a very unpleasant impression. Ultimately, our experience left us with the impression that the cause of our complaints was not identified, we received no clear guidance in a difficult situation, and the subsequent billing was incomprehensible to us. Therefore, based on our personal experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend Mr. Köhler.
