We've been taking our rabbits to Dr. Ritter for many years and are extremely satisfied! Sure, the practice can get quite busy at times, but there are also days when we get seen immediately. It's hard to predict. The staff is especially friendly and compassionate, particularly when dealing with distressed patients. What we also appreciate is the excellent balance they strike between trying everything possible and not letting the animal suffer unnecessarily. This is very important to us, even when the decision to euthanize comes down to it. We feel both professionally well-advised and emotionally supported at this practice! Kudos to all the staff there.

We cannot recommend the Ritter veterinary practice in Dresden in any way and will definitely not be using it again. On the night of December 30, 2025, we sought help due to an acute emergency. Our 2.5-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback had collapsed twice, was lethargic, and showed clear signs of health problems. Even on the phone, we didn't get the impression that our request was being treated with the necessary urgency. Despite our expressed concern, the response was rather indifferent. Unfortunately, this impression continued on site. The greeting seemed annoyed and lacking in empathy. The examination was limited to a brief listening and palpation, even though our dog clearly showed signs of pain in his abdomen. Further diagnostic measures such as X-rays or other examinations were not performed. Instead, our dog simply received two injections (one for pain and one for nausea), and we were sent home with the comment, "He certainly doesn't look like he's dying." Less than 24 hours later, our beloved dog was dead. He was only 2.5 years old. Since his condition worsened after the visit, we took him to the veterinary clinic in Leipzig ourselves. There, a comprehensive diagnosis was performed immediately. An X-ray revealed serious internal problems that necessitated emergency surgery. Despite all efforts, our dog died the following night. Looking back, we cannot understand why further diagnostic tests were not ordered at the Ritter practice despite the clear symptoms. What was particularly upsetting for us, besides what we considered inadequate treatment, was the lack of empathy in an already extremely distressing situation. We were also charged almost 300 euros for a treatment that barely went beyond a superficial examination. We deliberately refrain from asking whether our dog would still be alive in Dresden with a sound diagnosis and timely intervention. Nevertheless, we are left with the thought that several hours could have made a crucial difference – and perhaps spared him a great deal of suffering.

The vet and her staff are very nice. They answer questions thoroughly. Our cat is doing well after today's spaying and we feel we were in good hands.
