And here's a little insider tip: If you have a dog or cat that panics at the sight of a veterinary clinic, you can contact Dr. Thiess. Dr. Thiess cared for our pony mare until 2017, and thanks in part to her dedication, she lived to the impressive age of 39. She always acted in the best interests of the horse and left no stone unturned. Whenever the mare was confined to her stall (which happened occasionally due to bone spavin) and we couldn't come ourselves because of work, Dr. Thiess, after consulting with us, would take over the treatment even without our presence, always treating her as if she were her own animal. We always felt we were in the best hands, and should another horse come into our lives in the future, Dr. Thiess will always be our first choice and our trusted veterinarian!
