Reviews
Dr. Hackl is by far the best veterinarian in our area. She has helped my bulldog many times. She is very kind to the animals (you can immediately tell that it's not about the money for her, as is unfortunately the case with almost all other veterinarians), but rather that Dr. Hackl's well-being is her top priority. Veterinarians like her have sadly become a rarity!
On All Saints' Day 2022, our 14-year-old pug suffered a severe stroke, fell into a coma, and was visibly struggling to die. It was a public holiday in Rhineland-Palatinate, and our veterinarian was closed. In Hesse, however, the vet was open, so we called Ms. Hackl. That morning, Ms. Hackl told us on the phone that our dog would "probably die soon," but if not, we should come in after 6 p.m. After the examination, despite his critical condition, our dog was not euthanized because "no prior diagnosis" was available—something we couldn't possibly obtain after 6 p.m. on that public holiday! Instead of help, we received a prescription for diazepam and Ms. Hackl's advice to "let our dog die alone in a dark room because he wouldn't go as long as we were with him." Had we known beforehand that we wouldn't receive any support from Ms. Hackl, we would have immediately sought out another veterinary practice. This prolonged struggle to survive was entirely unnecessary. The emergency service at the Frankenthal veterinary clinic took us seriously. There, our family member was finally able to pass away peacefully after almost 12 hours of avoidable suffering. Our experience: In a genuine emergency, we were completely left on our own by Ms. Hackl. We will never forget that.
Choosing a veterinarian or doctor is always a very individual matter. What one person praises, another might not. In our case, I am more than grateful that Dr. Hackl treated us with so much patience and time. She even took the time on Saturday to give us detailed advice over the phone. Where the Hüttenfeld small animal practice, where we had taken our animals for over 20 years, completely failed in my opinion, Dr. Hackl provided us with fantastic support. And that's before we were even patients there. Which we definitely are now. Thank you so much for everything.
We have been taking our pets to Dr. Hackl for years and greatly appreciate her honesty and, in particular, her love for animals. We recently had an emergency with our cat Ivan and were able to get an appointment with immediate care before a public holiday without any hassle, for which we are very grateful. Dr. Hackl is always friendly and competent, and her interaction with the animals is caring and warm. We are very thankful to have such a wonderful veterinarian in our area.
